R134a is the product of choice of most Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) due to its excellent performance as the long-term substitute of CFC-12. R134a is an environmentally friendly refrigerant, which does not deplete the ozone layer (ODP = 0) and is therefore not subject to phase-out regulations. R134a also has a high critical temperature, which ensures a good coefficient of performance especially at high condensing temperatures in air-cooled systems.
