Regulator Flow Charts
Selecting a regulator from the BOC regulator rangeEach regulator in the BOC range has been designed for a specific gas service and delivery pressure. The connections of the regulator have been configured to suit the specific service gas. In order to determine which regulator is required for your specific application, it is necessary to determine the following information:
In order to determine which pressure regulator will provide suitable flow and pressure capacity for the intended application, refer to the graphs to the right. The graphs represent the flow capacities of the pressure regulators at high and low inlet pressures. The data has been determined using air at standard conditions (0°C and 1 bar). When gases other than air are used, the flow data must be corrected for the specific gravity of the gas. The following table provides the correction factors for specific gravity:
Once the maximum flow of the required gas has been determined, divide the flow by the correction factor to get the equivalent flow in air. Example: Required flow of oxygen = 300 l/min Correction factor for oxygen = 0.951 Equivalent flow of air = 300/0.951 |
